One of the country's foremost promoters of the literary arts,
this nonprofit arts organization that has been serving readers and
writers since 1976. It is one of Colorado's longest standing
literary centers, presenting some of the nation's most prominent
and promising authors.

Community College Writers Studio
A community that offers creative opportunities for Colorado writers
and students of all levels, from the novice to the published writer,
through readings, literary contests, workshops, classes, and credentials.
Association for Women in Communications
AWC is a professional organization that champions the advancement
of women across all communications disciplines by recognizing excellence,
promoting leadership and positioning its members at the forefront
of the evolving communications era. The Denver chapter includes
members from many communications fields, including print and broadcast
journalism, television and radio production, film, advertising,
public relations, marketing, graphic design, multi-media design
and photography.
Author U(niversity)
A membership organization that is an authoring resource
that creates community, education, guidance, vision and success for the
serious author.
It does it through The Author Resource, a free monthly
ezine, multiple monthly programs including Brunch & Learn, Salons,
the Your Guide to Book Publishing
radio show, Hangouts On the Air, Mentoring Mondays,
BookCamps and the annual 3-day Author U Extravaganza.
Bloomsbury Review
A book magazine for the discriminating book reader, Bloomsbury reviews
unusual and lesser known literary works. In their words, "The
Bloomsbury Review is not slick, stuffy, fluffy, snobby, ponderous,
or presumptuous. The Bloomsbury Review is simply lively writing
about good reading and great writers."
Boulder Media Women
An informal networking group of more than 160 women who are media
professionals. The group includes writers, editors, publishers,
photographers, movie scriptwriters, TV producers, book designers,
web page experts, copy editors, literary agents, and creative literary
women in their own style. They meet regularly and periodically sponsor
events, such as literary afternoons at the Boulder Bookstore.
Boulder Writers Alliance (BWA)
A nonprofit organization of communications professionals in Boulder
and throughout Colorado. Members specialize in all facets of writing
and communications, including technical and marketing writing, fiction
and journalism, editing, graphic arts, multimedia, and the World
Wide Web. The BWA provides education, networking, and marketing
opportunities for members, and connects writers with employers through
this BWA Web site.
Boulder Writing Studio
Non-profit group that provides ongoing workshops for beginner,intermediate, and advanced students
in fiction, creative non-fiction,poetry, screenwriting, memoir and novel writing. The Studio also offers
student tutoring, mentoring, and a Creative Writing Summer Camp for community youth.
Centennial Pens and Publishers
A Colorado nonprofit that helps writers meet their goals through educational opportunities.
These opportunities come through monthly speakers and meetings, networking
between members and partnerships with other writer-focused organizations.
Colorado Association of Libraries
An association formed to improve library services to the people of Colorado,
to foster professional development of its members, and to encourage
the effective utilization of information literacy in all libraries.
Colorado Authors League
Incorporated on January 14, 1932, to "foster the art and craft
of authorship," CAL is one of the oldest professional writers'
organizations in the western United States. Today CAL includes more
than 200 specialists, whose work embraces every branch of fiction
and nonfiction.

Center for the Book
A 501(c)(3) non profit organization formed in 1987, the Center is
affiliated with the Library of Congress Center for the Book, a national
center created to stimulate public interest in reading, books and
libraries. The Colorado Center for the Book operates as a program
of the Colorado Endowment for Humanities.
Colorado Independent Publishers
Association (CIPA)
CIPA provides education, support, networking and nurturing to independent
publishers and other related industry professionals.
Colorado Poets Center
An on-line resource, listing more than 60 Colorado poets
and their biography, bibliography, sample poems, critical commentary,
and availability for readings and/or work in schools. Also lists
announcements, news, and readings.
Denver Press Club
A journalism tradition in Denver that stretches back to 1884, the
Club is a meeting place for journalists to socialize, gossip, swap
ideas and stories.
Denver Woman's
Press Club
The club brings together over 200 writers of all backgrounds-- journalists,
corporate and mass communications professionals, business and trade
writers, public relations specialists, grant writers, poets, novelists,
freelancers, educators and historians.
Foothills Writer's Group
A support group for writers in Northern Colorado.
Library People
A statewide, not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping libraries,
passionate about making connections between people and reading, increasing
community outreach and involvement, resulting in advocacy and visibility on behalf of

Booksellers Association
An association of 250 independent, locally-owned bookstores located
throughout the Rocky Mountain region and vitally interested in the
life and health of their communities. The diverse tastes of these
independent booksellers reflect the literary needs and interests
of those communities and help to make it possible for quirky or
controversial books and first-time authors to get published.
Mile Hi Con
The largest Science-Fiction Literary Convention in the Rocky Mountain
Region, MileHiCon features more than 80 authors and speakers at
its fall conference, including panels on everything related to Science
Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror.
Mystery
Writers of America, Rocky Mountain Chapter
The premier organization for mystery writers and other professionals
in the mystery field. The Rocky Mountain Chapter meets regularly
at various local restaurants.
Naropa University
Sponsors the Summer Writing Program, a four week program
open to all interested participants for non-credit and part of the
University's MFA in Creative Writing.
Northern Colorado Writers (NCW)
The purpose of Northern Colorado Writers is to encourage
and support writers of all levels and genres on their journey to
writing success. The website, monthly meetings and events provide a way
for writers in Northern Colorado to stay connected and in tune with
the writing world.
PEN Women Colorado
The National League of American Pen Women was founded in 1897 as
an alternative to the (then) all-male National Press Club. Since
its founding the club has brought together women journalists, authors
and illustrators for mutual benefits and the strength that comes
of union.
Pikes Peak Branch of National League of American Pen Women
This is the Colorado Springs branch of the National League
of American Pen Women, a professional group of creative women writers,
visual artists, and composers who encourage one another to
discover the words, the notes, and the brushstrokes that express who
they truly are.
Pikes Peak Writers Conference
A Colorado Springs based group that exists to promote and produce
literary events, provide an educational forum for the study of the
craft of writing, serve and promote the literary arts and demonstrate
the relevance of those arts to contemporary life and culture. The
Pikes Peak Writers Conference, held in Colorado Springs, is a multi-genre
commercial fiction that enjoys a reputation of professionalism without
sacrificing friendliness -- one reason many writers and publishing
professionals return year after year.

West
A non-profit trade association dedicated to serving its members
by creating a forum for the discussion of publishing issues, facilitating
the exchange of ideas among its members, offering cooperative marketing
opportunities, recognizing outstanding achievements in publishing,
increasing its members exposure in the publishing industry.

Fair
An organization of used and rare book-dealers in the Rocky Mountain
West. We are dedicated to stimulating book collecting, promoting
ethical trade in all facets of the antiquarian book business, and
educating the public in the field of antiquarian books.
Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers
A support group for writers of novel length fiction. The group provides
market news, education, and access to industry professionals. RMFW's
members are focused on mastering the art and craft of novel-length
fiction and acting as a dissemination point for information concerning
commercial fiction writing.
Rocky Mountain Publishing Professionals
Guild
An organization of self-employed individuals in the publishing and
communication industries. Its purpose is to promote and enhance
the professional skills of its members; to increase dialogue among
colleagues and clients through meetings and social events; and to
foster effective, ethical business practices. Members include editors,
indexers, proofreaders, designers, writers, researchers, and others
who offer a range of skills and specialties.
Romance Writers of America, CO Romance Writers
Focused on comprehensive programs structured to give members the tools
they need not only to become published, but to establish a career in
romantic/women's fiction. It is-metro Denver's oldest romance writing
organization, affiliated with RWA.
Romance Writers of America, Heart of Denver Chapter
A chapter of RWA whose goal is to promote excellence in romantic
fiction, to help writers become published and established in their
writing field, and to provide continuing support for writers within the
romance publishing industry.
Romance Writers of America, Kiss of Death Chapter
A chapter of RWA formed by writers world-wide to promote and support
the reading and writing of suspense and mystery fiction with strong
romantic elements.

A non-profit association of writers and other professionals writing and promoting the Women's West.
Writers on the Plains Program
A two-year visiting writers program celebrating the land and literature
of the plains region of Northeastern Colorado. Colorado communities
partner with visiting and local authors in a series of readings, book
discussions, writing workshops and publication of an anthology of
participants' work, inspiring residents to read, write, and talk about
their land and their lives.
